			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On May 6, 2012, ten contestants accepted the challenge to eat fifty bacon wrapped dates in thirty minutes, in the Pintxo 2nd Annual Bacon Wrapped Dates eating Challenge. If the contestants successfully completed the challenge, they would receive free bacon wrapped dates for one year.</p>
<p>While the contestants gave it their all, nly one succeeded. Congrats to Jack for eating all 50 in a record 14:43! Then he kept going, totaling out at 56.</p>

<p><strong>What: Pintxo&#8217;s 2nd Anniversary Party<br />
</strong><strong>When: 5pm-10pm (Bacon Wrapped Dating Eating Contest at 6:00pm)<br />
</strong><strong>Where: Pintxo 2207 2nd Ave (between Bell &amp; Blanchard)<br />
</strong><strong>What: We’ll have complimentary Paella samples for the first 50 guests, specials on food and cocktails, sangria and kalimotxo plus a bacon wrapped date eating contest at 6:00 p.m.<br />

<p>The Bacon Wrapped Dates eating challenge will consist of <strong>12 contestants</strong> attempting to consume 50 bacon wrapped dates in 30 minutes. Contestants who successfully complete the challenge will win a <strong><em>one year supply of bacon wrapped dates</em></strong>; one order per day spanning from May 7, 2012- May 6, 2013 (valued at over $1500).</p>
<p>This year, we’re going to do it a little differently. We’ll be choosing three contestants from our Twitter, Facebook &amp; Blog fans. Eight contestants, who do not win the contest, can “<a href="http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3468615723" target="_blank">buy in</a>” to the challenge. Last year’s winner, Brandon Mambelli, gets a free pass (<a href="http://www.pintxoseattle.com/bacon-wrapped-date-eating-challenge-results" target="_blank">he ate 51!!</a>).</p>
<p>Food Challenge contestants will be chosen from entries received via the restaurant’s Facebook/ Twitter/Blog contest. <strong>Contestants have from April 23, 2012-May 1, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. to enter.</strong> Winners will be randomly chosen from Facebook, Twitter and Pintxo’s Blog and announced shortly after contest close. Winners not chosen by contest can still <a href="http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3468615723" target="_blank">enter the contest – with a $15 entry fee</a>. If the winner successfully completes the challenge, their entry fee will be returned.</p>

<p>About Daniel Azcarate:</p>
<p>After playing guitar for many years Daniel has devoted himself wholeheartedly to flamenco. He got his start studying with Marcos Carmona, and although he is largely self-taught continues to study with Eric Jaeger. He studied in Spain intensively with Juan Del Gastor in 2008 and while there also began studying cante with El Gamba. He continues to enrich his knowledge of flamenco through studies with Jesus Montoya and Vicente Griego. His passion, dedication to flamenco, and undeniable talent are apparent to all who see him perform.</p>

<p>For months, our chef Malcolm, has been begging for a Ribera Del Duero (say that fast 3 times!). We now have two. What&#8217;s so special about the Ribera Del Duero?</p>
<p>Spain holds 11 &#8220;quality wine regions&#8221;. The Ribera Del Duero (included in one of the 11 quality regions) is located in the northern plateau and rests along the Duero river &#8211; a beast of a water way that boasts incredible history. From, housing Spanish Nobility when the Moors still ruled southern Spain to evidence of a Roman presence and influences of wine production and drinking. Napoleon and his troops fought and failed on these fields during the war of Independence and El Cid fought for Spain&#8217;s unification along the river banks.</p>
<p>There is nothing boring about the Ribera Del Duero. Including our new wines.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.bodegasrecoletas.com">Valdecampana Crianza</a>, 2005, Tempranillo: well balanced combination with notes from oak barrels (a year in the barrel, a year in the bottle).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Pintxo will open at 6:30pm on Friday, February 17, 2011</strong> to allow the owners to attend the Belltown Town Hall event, featuring Mayor Mike McGinn.</p>
<p>After The Seattle Channel&#8217;s <a title="Seattle Inside/Out" href="http://www.seattlechannel.org/videos/video.asp?ID=3061205" target="_blank">City Inside/Out</a> aired their &#8220;Belltown Blues&#8221; segment, featuring Mayor McGinn and Belltown business owners and representatives. During the program, the Mayor asked the business owners to invite him to an event, where he would be happy to discuss issues facing Belltown.</p>
<p>The businesses and representatives responded by inviting Mayor McGinn to a Town Hall event, to take place February 17, at 5pm. The town hall meeting will be held at the <a href="http://www.millionairclub.org/">Millionair Club</a> located at 2515 Western Avenue.</p>
<p>&#8220;I appreciate the Mayor taking the time to speak with Belltown residents and business owners about public safety needs and how to build a thriving Belltown,&#8221; said Cory Chigbrow, owner of Belltown establishments Pintxo and The Upstairs.</p>
