Lustau Sherry Tasting Event This Tuesday!

We’re proud to announce that we’re hosting a Lustau sherry tasting event here at Pintxo this Tuesday night!  This special event is open to the public, and we welcome anyone and everyone to stop by to enjoy our featured Lustau sherry flight and some tasty tapas specially selected to pair perfectly with each one!

To sweeten the pot, we also have a very special guest flying in from Jerez, Spain. The Spanish Lustau rep will be here to hang out with us, drink some sherry, enjoy some tasty tapas, and share a bit of information on Lustau, their sherry offerings, some history on sherry and sherry making, and answer any questions you may have. This is a great opportunity to taste sherry if you’ve never had it, or expand upon your current knowledge if you’re already a sherry drinker. It also makes for a great date night idea!

MIRO at the Seattle Art Museum Features Spanish Artist Joan Miro

Pintxo is excited to announce that the Seattle Art Museum (SAM) is currently exhibiting the amazing Spanish artist, Joan Miro.  The exhibit runs through May 26th, and features works spanning from 1963 to 1981.  Works on display include an assortment of both paintings as sculptures that display “Miro’s playful ingenuity and inventiveness.”

As many of you know, Pintxo supports local artists through participation in Belltown’s monthly Artwalk, and we have a constant display of rotating pieces from some of our favorite local artists, as well as up-and-coming artists.  While we love local art and continue to show support for it, and its growth, we also love Spain and the art that comes from it.  As such, we’re so excited and proud to see that SAM has chosen to exhibit a Spanish artist.  We’d like to show our support and appreciation for the MIRO exhibit by offering our guests 20% off their dinner when they bring in their MIRO ticket stub.

Pares Balta Ros de Pacs 2010 Rose featured in New York Times

The Pares Balta Rose de Pacs 2010 Rose was selected as the number one Rose today!

Pintxo proudly features this wine on our extensive Spanish wine list. You can sip this Rose on our sunny patio for just $9 glass or $32 for the bottle.

From the New York Times:

The wine is from the Penedès region, west and slightly south of Barcelona, where Parés Baltà has grown grapes for more than two centuries. Clearly, though, the composition of this Rosado, from international grapes like syrah, merlot and cabernet sauvignon, comes from a relatively recent planting. As with many of these rosados, this one had a touch of residual sugar, but the sweetness was so well balanced by the acidity that the overall effect was greatly refreshing.

Remember, Pintxo celebrates Wine Wednesday every Wednesday with $10 off any bottle of wine.

Announcing Prix Fixe Dinners at Pintxo!

Starting today, Pintxo will be adding a prix fixe dinner option to the menu.  To spread the word, we have joined forces with Tippr to bring you a very special two-for one Prix Fixe dinner deal!  That is two full dinners for $25, and if the deal “tips”, we’ll even throw in dessert for two!  As an added bonus, you can use one Tippr per every two diners in your party.

The Prix Fixe dinner will start with a Pintxo Platter for two – a selection of lamb meatballs, bacon-wrapped dates, tortilla espanola, marinated olives and a chef’s choice. Follow that up with a meat and cheese plate for two, featuring an 18-month aged imported Serrano ham served with artisan bread and a rotating selection of cheese. For your entrée, choose from one of our three daily specials.

Some examples of past specials include Rabbit Confit with Roasted Tomato, Pork Loin in Orange Sauce, Squid with a Sherry/Almond Sauce, Paella Valenciana (for 2), Pan Seared Cod with Salsa Verde, Monkfish with Leeks and Pancetta, and Trout Navarre style.

Prix Fixe dinner options are subject to change, as our menu changes often due to availability of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.  The Tippr deal is available to purchase through tonight, September 27, 2010, at 11:59pm.

Can you believe it’s already September and Labor Day weekend is upon us?  It is the last holiday we’ll see for awhile and the unofficial end of summer. Luckily for Seattlites, this three day weekend is packed with fun activities throughout the city. The Pintxo staff is especially excited for both Bumbershoot & the Penny Arcade Expo, both of which are happening through the weekend.

With our central Belltown location, Pintxo is an easy walk or bus ride from either event. Stop by before, after or take a quick break during and enjoy the Labor Day specials!
